The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.
When the years of routine and responsibility have worn you down so much that you feel indifferent about yourself and blah about pretty much everything, life feels heavy and hard.
You feel like you’re giving and giving and giving – with nothing in return.
You feel like everyone and everything comes before you – even the dog.
You feel like you don’t know how much longer you can keep up this page, but WTF can you even do to change the current status quo?
Babe, it starts with you pulling up some of that incredible strength and power that you have and saying, “I MATTER.”
I AM WORTHY.
I DESERVE TO FEEL HAPPY.
IT’S MY DIVINE BIRTHRIGHT.
I WASN’T BORN TO PAY BILLS, GO ON ANOTHER DIET AND DIE.
The change starts with realizing that YOU have to give a shit about yourself.
I know what you’re thinking: “Oh that’s selfish. What will people think about me?”
LISTEN UP – STOP THAT RIGHT NOW.
It’s not your business what anyone things of you anyway.
Fuck the guilt. Fuck the fear of judgment.
You, my sweet friend, have been living with so much heavy guilt and fear of judgment that it’s blocking your ability to live your life and be happy.
You’re borrowing trouble and anticipating something that might not even be true.
And if it is true and people are judging you, WHAT OF IT? WHO CARES?
Start small. Start today. Give a tiny shit about yourself today.
Maybe that means going for a 15 minute walk *alone* and listening to your favorite jams from the 80’s.
Maybe that means ordering something in a pretty color (like blush pink) from Nordstrom online that will make you feel beautiful when you wear it.
Maybe that means eating a lemon scone with your latte this morning – and not sharing it – and enjoying every bite without guilt.
Maybe it means booking yourself an overnight in a swanky hotel in your city for a mini-retreat.
Don’t throw up the excuses why this can’t happen.
I call bullshit.
You’re capable and can make anything that you want happen.
Today the day when you’re going to give (at least a little) shit about yourself.
If you need a little help figuring out what “giving a shit about yourself” might look like, download this free list I made for you.
